About Centro Cultural Guanin
Centro Cultural Guanín, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in La Piedra, Dominican Republic, dedicated to helping young people discover, develop, and achieve their full potential—as individuals, citizens, and future leaders.
Since our founding in 2001 by Elias Severino Hernández, we’ve worked alongside a global network of partners and coordinators in the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and Germany. Together, we deliver life-changing educational, cultural, and community development opportunities for children, youth, and their families.
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture a generation of leaders and role models who uplift their communities from within. At Guanín, children are empowered through activities that stimulate the mind, strengthen the body, and nourish the spirit—building self-esteem and resilience along the way.
We provide a safe and caring environment where young Dominicans can play, learn, grow, and prepare for a brighter future.
A Lifelong Approach
We begin supporting children in their earliest years through our nursery and daycare program. As they grow, they attend our bilingual education center, where they receive instruction in Spanish and English, tutoring in core subjects, and enrichment in art, theater, music, and sports—thanks to the dedication of local teachers, the support of the Dominican government, and volunteers from around the world.
