Sie befindet sich in La Piedra, Dominikanische Republik, und hilft jungen Menschen, ihr volles Potenzial als Erwachsene, Bürger und Führungskräfte zu entdecken, zu entwickeln und zu erreichen. Wir dienen unserer Gemeinschaft in 6 verschiedenen Zielen. Unsere Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, develop confidence, and cultivate skills for life in the Dominican-Haitian community. We aim to run inclusive, sustainable programs for children and youth in the Dominican Republic that can be replicated throughout impoverished global communities.

MEDICAL MISSIONS

Due to Guanín's remote location and poor road conditions, medical care is not easily accessible. At Guanín, we provide medical clinics at our center, along with medical missions throughout the community, serving nearly 5,000 residents. We have provided many families with the care they deserve. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. We invite medical, nursing, public health schools to visit our community to not only assist our residents, but also to gain the hands-on practical experience of working with patients.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

At Guanín, we aim to provide a safe place for our students and residents. We are constantly working on community development projects, from improving upon our school and daycare center to extending our labor out into the community. Over the years, we have provided families with water at their homes for the very first time; we've built homes for those who needed them most; and we've created jobs for people, allowing them to support their families.

Bildungseinrichtung

At Guanin, we are dedicated to providing our children with the best possible learning experiences. A Day Care for kids from 45 days to 2 years old, Pre-school, from 2-5 years old and Therapy Clinic for stimulation. The Centro Educativo Bilingüe, Dra. Lynne Guitar, is named after the co-founder of Guanín, who has financed the education of many Dominicans. Our school is open Monday through Friday from 8 am-4 pm. We provide free education and three meals (breakfast, snack, and lunch) a day to nearly 200 children. We have many dedicated teachers, but we also invite volunteers to teach our students.
